It's not much longer now.

I hit up my old apartment. Got my guitar, Pop's old model of a Spitfire (remember when we bought him that for Christmas, Claire?), and the last family photo. I regretted leaving those behind.
It's the same. It's exactly the same, right down to the little gouges in the wall in the East Office where Ryman carved the beat cops' initials into the floorboard.

My old desk... those were the good days. It looks like it did on a holiday weekend. No papers, no case files, Jill's beret's not on her desk, Brad's not at the switchboard, Barry's not eating lunch at his chair.

...My old jacket's still here. I remember this thing. "Made in Heaven", Dad's favorite song. Grandpa's old fighter jet design. God, I missed this thing. I wonder if it still fits.

...Well. The roof's in one piece. I think I'll move in here. Just for a while. Nostalgia and all that, you know?

Then he starts talking.]

I have no idea what this place is, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. It's a house! With hot and cold running water and no holes in the ceiling! Okay, I've been working on the part about the holes, but still. Whoever did this is my freakin' hero. I missed indoor plumbing like mad since I got here.

...You'd think that the TVs could at least get HBO or TCM or something, though. So far it's all about Shinra and that Sephiroth loon being a big hero. Pfft. If he's a hero, then Wesker should win the Nobel Peace Prize or something.

[A cough.] I could do without the ghost people, though. Have you guys seen them too?

So! The fountain's free and clear now? Thanks to whoever cleared it out. I was starting to run out of stockpiled drinks. I hope it wasn't too much of an issue for you, whoever you are. It certainly looked nasty when I wandered by before. Didn't drink any, trust me. I'm not that stupid.

Leon, man... sorry for what happened. Inter-personal arguments were never my strong suit. I thought staying out of it was the best course of action. I hope we're still cool. If not, hey, I completely understand.

Looks like Wesker's going to be on the hunt again. Avoid him at all costs, people. I'm not joking here. If you get into trouble, give a yell or a holler or whatever. There are enough of us here so that you'll be out of the bind in no time flat.

Okay, so. Yeah. Getting water from the river and purifying the hell out of it is a pain in the ass. Whoever drugged the fountain water, do us all a favor and knock it off the next time you get that idea into your head. Save us all some time and effort and just don't do it. Thanks.

Leon, how're you doing? Haven't talked to you in a bit, so let me know what's up.

Alexia, what I said before still stands. I'm not a guinea pig for every wacko scientist who wanders in here and decides to set up shop. Ask Wesker what happened the last time he tried to hunt me down if you don't believe me. Hint: I walked out just fine.

Matt? Thanks for the cigs. I found a box shoved under an empty flowerpot. I think I stashed it there during the whole identity swap hoo-hah. If you want it, it's yours.

That's all I've got to say aside from the usual "agh the gods must be crazy" stuff. And I'm not talking about the movie in this case.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some water to go get.

Okay! Freaky monsters and people saying the fountain water tastes weird. I'd call it another regular day.

Except not. I saw one of those things earlier. When I shot at it, it... melted or something, I don't know. All I know is that one second I had it in my sights and the next the thing was halfway down the street. If you made those things, Wesker, then you really do need to get a better hobby. Seriously, freaky monsters? Not very cool.

Leon, man, can you spare a moment? I had an idea. Not about the task force <strike>congrats on being the leader, by the way</strike>, but about something else.

Guess I'm gonna be getting my drinking water from the river for a while.

No sign of the others, Captain Wesker. Maybe that guy who talked about monsters was right about this after all. It's been pouring down rain.
